As promised here are a few more peeks of the adorable River. He is 9 days new today
He was pretty much a rock-star and we had a fabulous session. He slept
perfectly. He just had a bad night the last time. Persistence and
patience pays off. Such a beautiful little family. I enjoyed working with them so very much. Thank you Sarah and Codi for bringing your little man to me. I hope you enjoy!

Meet River Truman Bailey....7 days new
I love nothing more than to capture sweet, squishy little babies in their most innocent state, sleeping. The images bring such a sense of calm and peacefulness to me when I look at them. Meet River and his beautiful Momma. You might remember Sarah from her amazing maternity session we had a
while back. She is just as stunning now as she was then. Right?
Well little Mr. River is my biggest baby to date. 9lbs. 15oz. Good job Mom! River was 7 days new at this session and he just didn't want to sleep for us. He was super adorable, just not sleepy. We captured some amazing family images and some beautiful Mommy& Me images. Then he flashed his big pretty eyes for us and he did not want to sleep anymore. So I am setting up to have round #2 with him today. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell all my new Mommas, if baby is not having a good day and we just can't get the shots you want, I am more than happy to schedule a 2nd session for the next day or two to try again. Sometimes Babies have their off days too. And I was a new Momma once myself, I know how stressful those first few days are with a new little one. I try to minimize stress for Mom and Dad as much as possible. I am completely understanding of that and would love nothing more than to ensure we get those images you have been dreaming of. Thanks All! I'll be posting more images of little River later.

Baby Elle... 7 days new
I would like to introduce little Elle Taylor Folkman. She was just 7 days new at her session and the sweetest little girl. I always get asked if Mom and Dad are allowed in the images with their new baby. And the answer is YES, 100 times yes. I love the family shots the most. There is such emotion attached to them. Just take a look. Thank you so much Ashley and Chase for bringing your new baby girl to me. She was an absolute delight to photograph.
Enjoy!!!

Carpenter-Leete Extended Family Session
Hello to all of you! I hope you are all having an amazing summer. We definitely are. We have been cramming so many activities into our first couple weeks off. I am still busy with sessions and editing, so I'm sorry I haven't had much time to post all of my beautiful work. If you want to see more updates of my current work pop on over to my Facebook Page and take a look. Now onto the beautiful people who fill up my life.
I'd like to introduce to you the Carpenter & Leete families. These lovelies were absolutely amazing! We finished this extended family session in record time and look at these adorable images we captured! They were some serious rock-stars. I am so very thankful to all my friends, family and clients who keep coming back to me year after year for their annual family photo sessions. It means the world to me. I love coming up with new fun ideas every year too. Now, I'll quit babbling and let you see these beautiful people :) Thank you so much for trusting me again to capture your families memories. I am in LOVE with them all! Enjoy

Light and Connecting with your subject
Hello everyone! I am busily working to keep up on all my client orders, but I wanted to take a little break and share a fun session I did just for me the other night. This is my oldest daughter, Alissa. I know I'm her Mom so I might have the "Mommy Goggles" on, but isn't she STUNNING!!!! My middle Baby Girl Korynn came along as well. I will be posting her very own special post of images soon too. I am so very lucky to have such beautiful, sweet girls.
Well, the 3 of us drove around the city to find little out of the way places with pretty light. I wish I would have snapped a pull back image of where these were taken, you wouldn't believe it! Some in the midst of a construction site. While there was no work going on of course.
A truly beautiful photograph isn't about the location, although that can't ever hurt, it is really about connecting with your subject and of course beautiful yummy light. I find myself driving around at the "golden hour" of the evening finding so many beautiful spots I would love to photograph someone. Many times I end up taking clients to one of my "spots" and I can see the doubt in their eyes. Like they are saying,"You want me to take a beautiful image where?....... Here with all this blah." So I absolutely love it when they see their images and their mind is blown by how much the location doesn't matter. Connect with your subject and make the light work for you, not against you. Remember, a beautiful image you see with your eye first. The camera sees it second. So if it looks pretty, chances are it will photograph beautifully.
So the meaning to all my rambling is,
#1. if you are a photographer.... don't let a location set you back and make you not be inspired by its lack of amazingness. Connect with your subject and rock the light. All will be well. And you will be a better more rounded photographer for it.
#2. If you are the client........ Have faith in your photographer. You have seen their work and that is why you hired them. You may not have ever seen how they get the perfect shot, but just know that your images will be beautiful. No matter how ridiculous it seems at the time. Or how many weird, laying on the ground poses they do or have you doing. If you don't have faith in them, maybe you shouldn't have hired them as your photographer in the first place.
Now I'll zip it and let you see the beautiful Alissa. :) Thank you
