Moments...

Moments... Someone asked me the other day why I do what I do. They wanted to know why I liked to take pictures of people. I thought on it a moment and replied, I like to make someones special moments in their life memorable. I guess it comes from my own point of view. I love to look back at old albums and say, I wonder what was special to them that day, what were they feeling? I think of how quickly my own family has grown, and I'm so happy I have pictures to document their lives. I'm not a great writer, and I don't take great home movies, but my children will always have our pictures to look back on. The things that motivate me the most are those little moments in life that we miss or take for granted. Like smiling girls playing on a summer day, a Grandmother kissing a baby, father and daughter fishing one warm night, a little girl sad because she dropped her cupcake, a conversation between both grandma's and their grandson, or a couple in love. These are the moments I try to capture and give them to people to cherish.

Straight out of the camera...

So today I thought I would be bold and show you a good shot I took that is straight out of the camera. I have been playing with photoshop to much lately and thought I would try doing it the true real way. No enhancing. I like the angle and crop of this particular shot, but the color and exposure could be amped up a little. I'll try some more and you can tell me what you think. Thanks for stoppin...

Making Progress...

I had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to take pictures of these two cute ones at their 1st communion. I was nervous at first hoping that I could make their parents happy. I think I accomplished that. I feel I am making progress with my work and getting better and better. If any one is interested in booking a shoot please contact me. I have some fun ideas to try.  I am booking through summer now. Thanks for stopping by. More to come soon...

So cute after all these years...

So I had a lot of fun over the weekend. I was able to take lovely photos of this couple. I tried to capture the sweetness still between these two after nearly 38 years of marriage. I was trying to get the perfect shot with limited options for poses. He had just under gone shoulder replacement surgery and could only stand for a brief time, and he wouldn't sit down on anything. I think they turned out good. I tried to change my camera angles so the pictures had a little variety in them. All in all it was a good learning experience for me as a photographer. I will be able to do even better in the next shoot. Stay tuned....

Smiles

This weekend I had the privilege of photographing these cute little girls blowing dandelion puffs. She was so cute and so excited to see them float away as she blew on them. I miss my kids being little and doing this. I'm glad I got to play with them for a while. She was shy at first, but I've learned a few tricks along the way to get her to open up. PLAY!!! Adorable. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

My Inspiration...

I titled this post "My Inspiration" because these are the things that do indeed inspire me. What could be sweeter than a mother horse with her newborn foal? This baby was brand new maybe a day old if that. Still wobbly and skinny. I love western art and I think I'm getting better at the photography aspect of it. Horses have always been a passion of mine ever since I was a little girl. We live in a rural town where everyone still waves to everybody as your driving by. We're not afraid to let our kids walk down the street. It is truly a peaceful and calming place to call home. I am so blessed we are lucky enough to have found our little piece of heaven on earth. I may not have the biggest or nicest house on the block, but it's our home and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Enjoy, more to come soon. Have a great weekend everyone ;)

This was a fun shoot to do. I'm still looking for models if any one is interested. I tried to capture this little cowboys life now with a hint of the past added in. I love outdoor shoots. I can't get enough of the light. Keep checking in more to come....
