One of my top ten...

This picture was taken the other day before school started. When I asked my kids what they wanted to do on their last day of summer vacation their answer was, ride horses. We haven't done as much of this as we would have liked this summer. I thought it was a great idea. We saddled up and had a really great time. At the end of our riding session I happened to pick up my camera at the right moment and captured this. My oldest was giving her thanks to our horse Sonny for the great ride. It made my top ten favorite photos of all time. I don't know if it's the kind look in his eyes, the way the light works, or her emotion that made me like this so well. Whatever it is I love this shot. Just goes to show if I hadn't had my camera out and ready I would have missed it. Let that be a lesson to me..... Always be prepared! Thanks for stoppin' by. So let me start by saying thank you for being patient with me. I finally have my computer issues solved, and I am now up and running. I am not a technical wizard so it took me a little longer than I anticipated. I have so much to show you, where shall I begin. Let me start with showing you the funnest photo shoot I have had to date. The Davis Family. My fabulous neighbor happens to be a wonderful photographer too.            Okay how cute is this lil guy? Oh my gosh I might die from cuteness. He was so fun to photograph, he loved the camera this day and was hamming it up for me. I love it when they do that. More to come...

We went fishing last weekend and I was so excited to get out my camera and be creative. I have to say I was not very happy with the results. Most of the tricks I tried didn't work out. I managed to get this one nice shot of my daughter playing with rocks in the lake. I'm not going to give up. Just keep trying. Stay tuned more to come....

MISS "A"!!!

               Isn't she lovely.  Last night I wanted a challenge. The light outside was hot and harsh. It's not my favorite time to shoot. I've been working on areas I want to improve in lately, so what better time? Most of these images are straight out of the camera, other than a tint change and my logo. They could be better, but I feel good about them. How can you go wrong with a pretty girl :) We had a lot of fun. Let me know what you think. More to come...

Still life

Can you tell I was home bored today :). I decided to try some still life shots. I haven't done any with a purpose in a while. I love the color of the purple orchid and it almost made me sad to turn it black and white, but when I did I noticed the texture stand out. The ribbing on each petal that gets lost in the color photo, because all you notice is that beautiful purple color. It is a flower from my husband and when I look at it I'm happy. I always try to do work that makes me happy:) Keep shooting!

This is the gorgeous Miss "K". She is my middle child. The one and only. :) The hater of having her picture taken, the wearer of ripped shorts, the queen of having her hair undone, the lover of all animals. Gotta love her. Let's just say she was opposed to having a photo shoot with me. I finally talked her into it and look how pretty she is. She is in a bright summer color, and she looks so happy. I was so pleased how this shoot went. I just can't decide on my favorite picture. I need your help. Please let me know what you think. I'm leaning toward Image 4, but I love the others as well.  This is her best shoot to date and I need a good photo of her to hang in my home. They are all so similar I can't choose. This is a problem for me that I'm working on. I need a little more variety in my work. Always room for improvement. Thanks for helping me out. Have a great weekend everyone!
