Itty Bitties...

Aren't they the cutest. This was a shoot I did a few weeks back and am now just getting time to show you. I have been crazy busy this week and last. It seems like all I do is edit. I'm getting better and faster every day. Finally.

This adorable Lil guy & his cute sister belong to my husbands best friend from high school. They were so much fun to photograph. His big sister was so cute telling me all about him. It's so fun to watch how proud siblings are of their baby. I just love to be a part of it. Thank you so much again for letting me in to your little piece of heaven.

I have so much more to show, you thanks for being patient with me. I'm hoping to post more of my recent work every day. So stick around for more fun sneak peeks. Have an amazing day!!!

New editing actions...

Well the weekend is here. Today instead of a photo of the day I'm going to share a few new actions I found with you. If you don't speak photoshop you might not know what an action is. It's a series of preset adjustments you can use to edit your photograph. I love love love the first one. It has a beautiful rose tint to it and it gives you the option of using a frame as well. It saves time and it gave my sunset just the right pop I was looking for. I thought the caption at the bottom just added to it.

The second one has a slight blur to the entire background. It also gives the photograph a saturation boost. I think it gave this photo the appealing look I was going for. I wanted it softened, but not to have muted colors. This action worked perfectly. Enjoy the weekend everyone. I have 3 more shoots this weekend. Look forward for more to come.

~Photo of the day~

Well, I'm sorry I haven't posted a photo of the day in a while. Life has been busy. Although, I wouldn't have it any other way. I wish I could fit a few more hours in my day. :)
Now, back to this beautiful photo. I love the look they're giving each other. It makes me wonder what they're thinking. You can almost feel the snap-crackle-pop! I love to sit and just look at photos like this. Your total attention is on the beautiful couple and the love between them. Maybe he just told her something she will remember forever. I hope a photo like this will keep memories alive.
I have many more shoots coming up. Stay tuned for more fun photos. I do still have a few openings, if anyone is interested, please contact me. Fall only comes once a year. What a better season to get outside and spend time with your family. We'll make some great memories. Thanks everyone. Have an awesome day!!!!

"One of those days"

Have you ever just had one of those days? Looks like my little man was having one last night. I love this picture. It's not fake or phony. I captured his real emotion at the time, and I love it. We often don't keep photos when our kids or family aren't smiling. I do. Not just because I'm a photographer, because I love to look at a picture and feel the emotions coming from it. Be it good or bad.

He wanted to go play on the playground and I wouldn't let him until we were done taking family pictures. I promise his mood improved as the night went on. He finally got to go play. :) I got some great shots last night. As soon as the editing is done I'll show you a peek. More to come....

Silver lining...

Hello everyone. Happy Tuesday. No one ever says that, so let me be the first today to say Hi. :):) Here are two of my beautiful kids. They are my youngest and middle ones. Gorgeous babies, aren't they? We were on our way to an apt. for my middle girl and I had a few minutes to spare. So what did I do you ask?????? Um, hello... it's me were talking about, PHOTO SHOOT!!!! My children love me:) There is a silver lining to this cloud. I promised them if they went with me to check out a new spot, I would let them catch guppies in the pond when we were through. This worked like a charm. Who doesn't want to catch tiny little fish and get dirty, right?
It was a fun spot, but the lighting was kinda tricky. Lots of beautiful trees, which means shade. I think for the most part they turned out ok. I have been having issues with my lens, and have been looking into getting a new one. I think I've narrowed down my choices and am so excited to get it and try it out. Yeah!!!
I love poses #1 & #2. The rest are just cute cause let's face it, they're my kiddos. I'm not partial, am I? Have a wonderful day everyone. Looking forward to all my fun family sessions this week. :):):)

One Pose, Different angles...

Happy Monday Everyone! I had a very busy and stimulating weekend. I got to try some new techniques that I've been waiting to do. This is just one of four shoots I was able to participate in this weekend. *sigh* This is my very beautiful sister. :) She has just had a major milestone in her life and I wanted to capture it on film for her to remember. I also had a secret project of my own while on this shoot. I wanted to see how many great and visually different shots I could get, and like, from her staying in one pose.
Here's how it went. My all time favorite is pose #2. Look at her eyes :) I have a few more in this sequence, but you get my drift with these four. It took me less than two minutes to get these great shots. She really only had to move her head and I did the rest. Minimal subect movement with maximum results.  I threw the last one in just for fun. So pretty. I was having an issue with the bright light of day, but I like the look as it turned out.
Now the fun part. I challenge all of you to try something different. Be spontanious while doing it, and have FUN!!!! Let me know how it turns out. Have a great week!!! :)

"Ready to Rope"

I just love the way the steers are back lit in this photo. I was trying some different techniques and this was one of my favorites. I went on the funnest shoot last night. It had all the things I love. Horses, steers, cowboys, friends and family. What an awesome way to spend the night. Roping and working. Seriously it doesn't get better than this. More to come soon from this session soon...

~Photo of the day~

I chose this photo for today's photo of the day for a very sweet reason. This is my very handsome husband. *wink wink* Today happens to be our 14th wedding anniversary. Wow!!! Time has flown by. Happy Anniversary Honey! :)

One of the reasons I like this photo so much is the expression on my husbands face. He looks truly happy. He never, ever smiles for me on camera, unless I just happen to catch him unaware and get an awesome shot like this. I don't remember what it was that made him laugh, but I'm so glad I have this shot to always remember him happy. Have a great day everyone!

~Photo of the day~

This photo is from a few years ago. This was our family dog Jackson. As you can see he was very loved. This is my youngest hugging him. There was a bond between these two that I have yet to see again. We lost Jackson to cancer a year ago. We were lucky to have him for 13 wonderful years. He has been greatly missed. I don't think I will ever have another dog quite like him.
As I was trying to decide on a photo of the day for today I kept coming back to this shot. I remember the day so well. It was a gorgeous afternoon and we were out pheasant hunting with my husband. The air was cool and fresh and my boy and dog were loving every minute of the day. They were running through the fields without a care in the world.
I think maybe that is why this picture kept coming back to me. I remember the feelings and the smells from that day like it was yesterday, and maybe if I didn't catch this shot I would have forgotten that. It makes me realize why I do what I do. There is no better way to capture a memory than through my lens. I love making memories every day. I enjoy looking back at all our family photos from different times in our life. I think one day my children will be so grateful for me packing my camera with us everywhere we go. I am giving them memories for the rest of their life. I would love to make memories for all of you too. If anyone needs a memory or two let me know. Thanks :)
