We went fishing last weekend and I was so excited to get out my camera and be creative. I have to say I was not very happy with the results. Most of the tricks I tried didn't work out. I managed to get this one nice shot of my daughter playing with rocks in the lake. I'm not going to give up. Just keep trying. Stay tuned more to come....

Worley Family

I had a great time working with this family. It's always a fun time to work with great people. And their little guy oh my gosh, so cute. They turned out great. Here's a peek...

Miss "A"...

MISS "A"!!!

Isn't she lovely.  Last night I wanted a challenge. The light outside was hot and harsh. It's not my favorite time to shoot. I've been working on areas I want to improve in lately, so what better time? Most of these images are straight out of the camera, other than a tint change and my logo. They could be better, but I feel good about them. How can you go wrong with a pretty girl :) We had a lot of fun. Let me know what you think. More to come...

Still life

Can you tell I was home bored today :). I decided to try some still life shots. I haven't done any with a purpose in a while. I love the color of the purple orchid and it almost made me sad to turn it black and white, but when I did I noticed the texture stand out. The ribbing on each petal that gets lost in the color photo, because all you notice is that beautiful purple color. It is a flower from my husband and when I look at it I'm happy. I always try to do work that makes me happy:) Keep shooting!

Overcoming objections...

This is the gorgeous Miss "K". She is my middle child. The one and only. :) The hater of having her picture taken, the wearer of ripped shorts, the queen of having her hair undone, the lover of all animals. Gotta love her. Let's just say she was opposed to having a photo shoot with me. I finally talked her into it and look how pretty she is. She is in a bright summer color, and she looks so happy. I was so pleased how this shoot went. I just can't decide on my favorite picture. I need your help. Please let me know what you think. I'm leaning toward Image 4, but I love the others as well.  This is her best shoot to date and I need a good photo of her to hang in my home. They are all so similar I can't choose. This is a problem for me that I'm working on. I need a little more variety in my work. Always room for improvement. Thanks for helping me out. Have a great weekend everyone!

A beautiful start...

Today my family took a little fishing trip up to a reservoir not to far from home. Now if you've ever been fishing you know you have to get up at the crack, and I mean crack, of dawn to catch the big fish. My husband woke me up, not to gently this morning at 5:30 am to get kids up and ready to go. Let me just say I wasn't a happy camper. I dragged myself out of bed and proceeded to go wake up three children. On my way through the house I looked out my front window and this is the sight I was greeted with. I was dumbstruck. I ran and grabbed my ever ready camera and started snapping away. Now remember it's 5:30 am and I'm in pajamas standing in the road with my camera. The farmers thought I was crazy. This is their time of day to be out and about. I apologized for being not to nice to my hubby, loaded up the kids and off we went.

We were on our way when all of a sudden it started to rain. I thought you've got to be kidding me. It was on and off all the way up the canyon. We finally arrived to blue skies. That didn't last long. It started to rain a little ways away from us and I was just about to tell the kids to take cover and snapped my next favorite shot of my girls enjoying those first few rain drops. It's moments like these that make me happy and feel complete. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Happy Snappin' :)

Spur of the moment...

I love these new photos I just shot of my middle child. We were just sitting home on a sat. morning bored as usual. I jumped up and said, "Who's up for a photo shoot?" Of course they could hardly contain themselves. Ha ha. I don't get my middle one to take very many photos. She absolutely hates it! She was just playing around mostly, but I was able to capture some great shots! I was thrilled. She is such a beauty. Have a great weekend. Stay tuned for more coming soon...

Moments...

Moments... Someone asked me the other day why I do what I do. They wanted to know why I liked to take pictures of people. I thought on it a moment and replied, I like to make someones special moments in their life memorable. I guess it comes from my own point of view. I love to look back at old albums and say, I wonder what was special to them that day, what were they feeling? I think of how quickly my own family has grown, and I'm so happy I have pictures to document their lives. I'm not a great writer, and I don't take great home movies, but my children will always have our pictures to look back on. The things that motivate me the most are those little moments in life that we miss or take for granted. Like smiling girls playing on a summer day, a Grandmother kissing a baby, father and daughter fishing one warm night, a little girl sad because she dropped her cupcake, a conversation between both grandma's and their grandson, or a couple in love. These are the moments I try to capture and give them to people to cherish.

Straight out of the camera...

So today I thought I would be bold and show you a good shot I took that is straight out of the camera. I have been playing with photoshop to much lately and thought I would try doing it the true real way. No enhancing. I like the angle and crop of this particular shot, but the color and exposure could be amped up a little. I'll try some more and you can tell me what you think. Thanks for stoppin...

Making Progress...

I had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to take pictures of these two cute ones at their 1st communion. I was nervous at first hoping that I could make their parents happy. I think I accomplished that. I feel I am making progress with my work and getting better and better. If any one is interested in booking a shoot please contact me. I have some fun ideas to try.  I am booking through summer now. Thanks for stopping by. More to come soon...
